How do I Become a BFC Volunteer?

To start your journey in becoming a member of the Brookhaven Fire Company, you must first fill out our online member lead form located here.

What are The Benefits of Volunteering?

There are many benefits of being a BFC Volunteer, here are just a few:

  • Performing a civic duty to help preserve life and property.
  • Acquire knowledge, skills, and abilities to be used as a career firefighter, EMT, or Paramedic
  • Acquire knowledge, skills, and abilities that can be transferred into current jobs or other career fields.
  • Free Training – Nationally Recognized Training provided through the County paid by the Fire company
  • Being a part of an inclusive organization that helps connect you with the worldwide fire service.
  • Technical training and real life skills you’ll receive
  • The satisfaction of teaching kids and seniors about fire safety.
  • The fact that there never a routine day in Emergency Services.

Is There a Cost for Training?

Brookhaven Fire Company pays for all Training courses at no cost to you.

I Already Have Training, Do You Accept It?

We do accept lots of various training from both inside the state as well as outside.  To get a better understanding of what training you have, please email us at and if possible, please include electronic copies of your training. You can also call us at 610-872-8903.

I am Only Interested in Emergency Medical Services, Can I Apply?

Absolutely! We operate with 2 BLS Ambulances that run over 1,000 calls for service per year.  We encourage anyone wanting to serve as EMS Only members to come join our family and make a difference in our community.

I Don’t Want to Respond to Emergencies, Can I still Volunteer?

Yes! It takes all types to help our organization provide great service to our community.  We offer membership opportunities for those that would prefer not to engage in on the emergency scene.  As a “Contributing Member” you can help our organization be just as succesful by providing your skills to fundraising, administrative tasks and so much more.
