On behalf of the men and women of the Colorado Springs Fire Department I would like to extend condolences to the Brookhaven Fire Company on the loss of Chief Robert Montella. A forty-six year career of serving one's community is an achievement few public safety professionals will ever achieve, and the true mark of a man dedicated to his mission and calling. I was alerted to "Big Bob's" passing by my friend, his nephew, and Driver Engineer on the CSFD, Jerry Montella. Jerry told me how his Uncle Bob helped to inspire him toward a career in the fire service, and that he wouldn't be where he is today without that example of selfless service to others. I want all of the Brookhaven fire family to know that Robert Montella's legacy of service lives on in Colorado Springs, through the life and service of his nephew. Jerry is the epitome of a fire service professional, the work that he does here, the lives he impacts, and the difference he makes each day, carry the "fingerprints" of his Uncle Bob. Hold strong Brookhaven, Colorado Springs Fire Department is standing the watch at your side.
Happy Firefighters Day. (Herb Cressman's Daughter)
Thanks for all you do for us:)
thinking of you Christopher !!
I would like to thank all the ems personnel who responded to a call at Hilltop Condos M building on 3-7-17. I suffered from a heart attack that day, and you were not only amazing at your jobs but wonderful with me as well. I was very scared and I'm sure it would have been alot scarier and more confusing had I not had such kind people helping me. You're all angels. Thank you from the bottom of my heart (which you helped to continue beating). We are lucky to have you. God bless.
Forever in my heart Little brother #chriskangas

hi everyone !! hope things are great at the big fire house , you know every start of spring christopher lingers in my mind, well hes always there - but spring is when it really hits me year after year , with every morning i open my window to let in the fresh air, and on the days the fire sirens are calling from glenolden and sharon hill and collingdale , while my neighbors are closing their windows to block the sound , i welcome it, smile , and say a prayer , its a reminder to me how wonderful you guys are and how proud i am to be the sister of such a great kid ...and as his birthday and anniversary approch i am thankful he had such great influences in his short little life !!
My thanks to all who responded to check out my daughter's CO alarm last evening. I know that these things can be a pain, especially in the middle of the night. I am glad that it turned out to be nothing. Again, my thanks.
